Making a Great Podcast with Harry Morton

I wanted to talk with Harry Morton because I’ve always respected the way he approaches podcasting—not just as a creative craft, but as a strategic, sustainable business. Back when I was at Castos, we were kind of on parallel tracks– okay, competitors. He was growing Lower Street, and we were both figuring out what it meant to build meaningful shows that actually connect with our client’s audience.

Now, with Lower Street’s acquisition of Pacific Content, Harry’s in a unique position to talk about where the industry is headed.

But what I really appreciate about our conversation is how down-to-earth it is. Actionable podcast advice no matter what size podcast you have.

We talked about what makes a great podcast, when video actually makes sense, and how creators—especially those not backed by big networks—can still carve out something impactful.

If you’re someone who’s trying to grow a podcast with a desire to reach a specific audience, or you’ve felt like the landscape is shifting too fast, I think you’ll get a lot out of hearing from someone who’s been in the trenches for years and is still evolving with the medium.

His interview starts at the 20:42 mark.

Up until that mark, you’ll hear from Stuart and I chat about what’s happening with Our Beloved Medium, including the launch of episode one!

We’re looking for your support!
